Why do I need to upload videos to my listing? Well, pretty straightforward. Think a person is looking for a service or a store in a particular area. They gravitate toward your business but still need convincing to select your services o products. A video can convince prospective clients, showing them who you are. Testimonials, for example, establish a perfect portrait of the potential customer.
Also, a video in a business listing can boost the Google Business Profile as Google knows people like videos. And if your competitor doesn’t have, this can make the difference. Not only for Google but, more importantly, to educate the user, your potential customer.
Before uploading the video, check Google’s guidelines and requirements
Video Guidelines
- Duration: Up to 30 seconds long
- File size: Up to 75 MB
- Resolution: 720p or higher
Once uploaded, you will have a video upload status where Google checks if you follow the video policies.
Video upload status
- Pending: The media is either in the upload or processing stage, or your profile is not verified. Pending videos don’t show up on Google Search or Maps to customers.
- Not approved: The media is flagged and has violated policies. Since it was flagged, the media doesn’t appear on Google Search or Maps.
- Live: The media shows up on Search and Maps for customers.
For the video policies, you can check this link which explains which off-topic/irrelevant, spam, inappropriate, privacy and prohibited content is not allowed.
How to add videos to your Business Profile
On April 30, 2022, Google deprecated the Google My Business platform. As such, now to configure your profile is different.
We’ll show you both desktop and mobile new configurations.
The easy in Desktop
is to go to your explorer and log in to your Google account. And search in Google your business name.
Here is an example of how looks mine
Now there are two ways to add the video
Way 1 – Get noticed by more customers – Drag photos or videos here – Post
Way 2 – Add a photo – photo – Add photos and videos – Select the video – Post
In Android, go to Google maps.
Log in to the Google account that has registered the business.
And here you have two ways:

To sum up, you saw that you must access the image upload section to upload videos. We wanted to clarify where the video should go, so you don’t miss it. 🙂
